Birthdays

It's a rather amazing thing...
To me, my birthday is just another day in the 365 days.. this started to happen after my 21st birthday.. Brithdays no longer hold that much importance to me any longer.
However, to me, it's more of an "excuse" for frens to gather. Hence, I've never held a birthday party in my entire life.. I'd rather go out with different groups of frens & have dinners with them.. this is much more meaningful & intimate.

Today's the day I turn 1 year older again. Sigh.. I've officially lived a quarter of a century.. (Yes yes.. I know.. pls dun bash me up.. I know I'm still the youngest among all my branch's colleagues & not that old among many frens.. but being a woman, give me some freedom to lament lah.. Anyway, this will only come once in my life time.. since I'll only turn a quarter of a century once! :pp)
As I've just returned from a fren's ROM, I'm great that this day is a special day to others too! :)

I'm much thankful for the thoughts & efforts that my frens have put into for getting my gifts.. The most touching is that one of my frens who's working in the States actually took the trouble to buy me a gift & get his gf to bring it back for me! & of coz, not forgetting my beautiful JC frens who specially got me a mani/pedi voucher from this particular shop that they know I had always wanted to try but had no chance to.. My colleague who actually took the trouble to give me an early bday treat at a posh restaurant when he knew that he's not in town on the actual day.. my most precious Sec school gal frens for giving me a new pc of equipment & teaching me wat's epilating.. a fren who knew I love to read & gave me a rather interesting book... & many others who remembered & wished me happy bday & those who hv bought me gifts but hv not had a chance to pass to me yet..

Thks so much for all your thoughtfulness... Many have asked what I wanted... to me, the most beautiful gift is your frenship & the efforts u take to choosing a gift.. It really doesn't matter wat I want.. (as we grow older & become self-sufficient, the cost of gifts is not that important as compared with when we're still poor students...rather, I treasure more the time & efforts esp since we're all so busy nowadays..) Coz I'd treasure watever u get for me! Surprises are always nice... :)
